About Collingwood Public Transit

Colltrans, the Town of Collingwood's public transit system, provides a convenient alternative to driving within Collingwood.  There are three regularly scheduled transit routes and the frequency of pickup at the terminal is every thirty minutes.  The Colltrans terminal is located on the corner of Second Street and Pine Street adjacent to the municipal parking lot at 100 Pine Street.  Currently the terminal is located outdoors and has two shelters.

Bus service operates on all days except statutory holidays.  Buses are fully accessible and can be used for wheelchairs, motorized scooters, pull behind shopping carts, as well as strollers.  The buses are all equipped with a passenger side access ramp which is available for use upon request as well as Q-STRAINTsecurement.   All buses are outfitted with bike racks as well which are available for use at no extra charge.

Colltrans buses operate on a B5 blend of Bio-Diesel in the winter months and a B20 blend in the summer months.

Transit links

Accessible transit service

Red Cross Para Transit 

Operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please contact 705-721-3313 x5229 to apply for eligibility and arrange for service.  Fares within Collingwood are $3.50 for a one way trip and $4.00 roundtrip or may vary.  Riders are asked to try and book three days in advance, however emergency bookings can be made.

In Collingwood there are two buses in operation during operating hours.  The first is a 2007 converted GMC van with a rear entry lift. The van can accomodate two accessible passengers at a time. The bus is equipped with a RICON lift and Q-Straint securement which is a five point securement system.

The second bus is a cutaway style 2009 Ford Diamond Coach with seating for up to five wheelchairs and 14 ambulatory positions.  The bus is equipped with a RICON lift and Q-Straint securement which is a five point securement system.

Ace Cabs Accessible Taxi Service

As of April 9th 2015,  The Town of Collingwood’s local Taxi company will be the operator of on demand accessible transportation within the Town of Collingwood. Hours of service are 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  Users are no longer required to pre book the service from 6:00 p.m. - midnight. Rates will continue to run on a meter, as governed by the Town of Collingwood Taxi By-Law.
