Invites applications for the position of
Administrative Clerk – Small Business Assistant
(One Year renewable contract)
Under the Direction of the Economic Development Officer, reporting to the Small Business Enterprise Centre Coordinator, is responsible for assisting the Small Business Coordinator in the delivery of small business support services to entrepreneurs in the four municipalities of Collingwood, Clearview Township, Wasaga Beach and The Blue Mountains; coordinating seminars/workshops and special events; administering the Provincial Youth Programs (Summer Company and Business Plan Challenge); compiling and distributing business start-up kits; identifying client needs, assisting with small business issues, and providing customer service and other small business information to walk-in clients. Consideration will be given to candidates currently receiving EI.
- Successful completion of a Post-Secondary School Graduation Diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum two (2) years experience in business administration and customer service.
- Knowledge of small business support in a business environment, business start-up process, government and private sector programs and services available to assist small business, event planning and organization, and telephone contact.
- Knowledge of general office procedures, including taking minutes, editing reports/correspondence and records and information management filing systems.
- Knowledge of the organizations, industry associations and government programs related to small business.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self management, accountability, flexibility and adaptability.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and familiarity with the Provincial SCREEN system.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to business enquiries regarding business start-up opportunities.
- Ability to attend at off site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
Salary: $14.64 per hour.
