WHEREAS Section 128 (2) of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter H.8, allows a council of a municipality to prescribe, by way of by-law, a rate of speed different from the rate set out in subsection (1) that is not greater than 100 kilometres per hour for motor vehicles driven on a highway or portion of a highway under its jurisdiction;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood deems it necessary to reduce speed limits on highways within Community Safety Zones and within the Industrial Park;
NOW THEREFORE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF COLLINGWOOD ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the speed limit for motor vehicles travelling on the highways described below be reduced to 40 kilometres per hourand that signs be posted in a conspicuous place at each approach to this section of highway identifying the newly posted speed limit:

2. THAT the speed limit for motor vehicles travelling on the highways described below be reduced to 50 kilometres per hourand that signs be posted in a conspicuous place at each approach to this section of highway identifying the newly posted speed limit:

3. THAT this By-law shall come into full force and effect on the date of final passage hereof at which time all By-laws and/or resolutions that are inconsistent with the provisions of this By-law and the same are hereby repealed or rescinded insofar as it is necessary to give effect to the provisions of this By-law.
