Notice of the Adoption of Official Plan Amendment No. 28 re: 2 Harbour Street West

TAKE NOTICE that on the 18th day of June, 2012 the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood passed By-law No. 2012-077 pursuant to Section 17 and Section 21 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended.  By-law No. 2012-077 is a by-law to adopt Official Plan Amendment No. 28 which proposed to make changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004).
 
Official Plan Amendment No. 28 affects land located on the southwest corner of Highway No. 26 West (Balsam Street) and Harbour Street West.  This land is a vacant lot municipally addressed as 2 Harbour Street West and is legally described as Part Lot 45, Concession 10, Part 1 on Reference Plan No. 51R-30863, Town of Collingwood, County of Simcoe. 
 
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of Official Plan Amendment No. 28 is to re-designate the northern portion of 2 Harbour Street West from Resort Commercial to Highway Commercial Exception Five (HC-5).  Official Plan Amendment No. 28 will permit this part of the property to be used for all of the typical highway commercial uses save and except for motor vehicle dealerships, gas stations, recreational vehicle sales and service uses. 
Note that Council has also passed amending Zoning By-law No. 2012-078 to implement Official Plan Amendment No. 28 (Town File No. D14411). 
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 28 and its proposed changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004) is available to the public for inspection at the Town of Collingwood Planning Services located at 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood, Ontario, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
 
Be advised that Council for the Town of Collingwood has forwarded Official Plan Amendment No. 28 to the Council of the County of Simcoe (as the approving authority) for its review, and if deemed appropriate, to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 28. Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the decision of the approval authority if a written request to be notified of its decision (including the person’s or public body’s address) is made to the approval authority.  The name and address of the approval authority for Official Plan Amendment No. 28 is:
